Pronews is a software package designed specifically for Newsagents. It holds, in computer memory, all the current details of customers, publications, etc. ( These can be modified to reflect changes introduced. )

Publications ( newspapers, weeklies, magazines, comics, etc ) represent a mass of detail, including current prices, future prices from a specific date, special prices for definite periods, different prices for Saturday versus weekdays, numbers sold by round, whether an early stop should operate prior to clients going on holiday, and so forth. Pronews reacts automatically to all these aspects and ensures that customers are charged at the correct rate.

Pronews also holds in its memory all the requirements of your customers, whether shop payers, weekly or monthly accounts, whether items are to be collected or delivered, holiday dates for temporary stops, any periodicals to be retained whilst on holiday, etc. Once entered, these details are retained and need never be repeated. (They can, of course, be amended when necessary to change personal details eg change of address, short-term items etc Most alterations can be accomplished by simple point -and-click procedures on the computer screen. ) All this information is readily accessible.

Pronews also records all the streets and roads in your operating area, allows you to allocate each to its Round and then places each street in delivery order. It produces clear delivery schedules showing each customer with his/her chosen items, by Round, then Street, then House Number order, so that delivery boys can see exactly what their correctly sorted, standard round contains; in addition, it prints daily deviation reports, excluding items NOT to be delivered e.g. Holiday Stops and also lists extra items to be added to the standard list e.g. short-term specials, holidaymakers' and visitors' items, etc. These reports are available in colour for maximum clarity.

Perhaps most important, Pronews automatically charges each customer for every item, at the correct price, including delivery charges where relevant. Using all this information already in its memory, without any additional input from the user, for any period Pronews can immediately calculate the gross amounts due and show the Payments made. Pronews also holds your current payment position so you can review the situation for any individual customer.

Should amendments be necessary, these can be applied globally ( e.g. to all customers taking any item ) or as an individual adjustment for any customer.

Pronews can show "who gets what" to resolve any shortages or late deliveries, and also provides historical records for each publication to assist with forward ordering from suppliers or distributors. It is possible to prepare all schedules in advance, should that be necessary or desirable at any time.

In short, Pronews simply carries out all the repetitive and time-consuming tasks in a newsagent's business, much more efficiently than any hand method, and consequently provides peace of mind as well as releasing its operator from daily drudgery.
